This project explores how people read river landscapes, specifically the San Diego River, through Plants, Animals, Water, Rocks & Sediment and Maps & Geography. There is so much to discover about rivers and their stories, be it through ways in which indigenous communities historically interacted with river ecosystems, via greek or chinese fables, or by learning about the ways that fish communicate with each other.

Picture yourself as a traveler, navigating through streams of thoughts, feelings, perspectives and ideas. Feel free to click through and explore this digital garden - there are many pathways that you can take to find out more about river ecosystems and the ways in which they shape not just our lives, but the lives around us. Follow the hyperlinks to travel through the garden, or click on the globe icon in the right hand corner to jump through different connection paths, and perhaps stop on the way to examine some of the sources that we found in greater depth. We hope that you enjoy discovering more about rivers and nature, and that this inspires you to take a walk to your nearest river and interact with it, letting it flow through you and bring you a sense of home.
